AN IPL-BASED AUCTION
Mocktion, an IPL- based auction event was organized by the Finance and Investment Cell, Daulat Ram College as a part of Excogitatia’22, the annual finance fest of the cell. It was a real-time virtual cricket auction where students had to bid for the players and make a cricket team. The event witnessed an overwhelming response with 165 registrations. The event preparations commenced with an excellent implementation plan. A precise monitoring and marketing strategy helped in attracting precocious minds from different universities throughout India. There was no certain eligibility as the event was open for all. The event was organized in an online mode and was conducted in two stages. The prelim round was a fun-filled cricket quiz. All the cricket enthusiasts attempted a 15- minute quiz. The Top 10 teams qualified for the final round. The bidding round was no less than the real auction as top-notch participants engaged in a cut-throat fight. The final round mainly involved buying players to form a cricket team. All the teams tried their best to buy the players they had thought about. The teams were evaluated on the grounds of rating points given to each player. The team with the maximum points won the game. The twist at the beginning and end changed the dynamics of the game. Amid this fierce competition, the winning position was bagged by Govind Goyal of Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi. The convenor and participants thanked and appreciated the organizing committee for putting up a successful event.
